What did you know about art criticism when you started the class? How comfortable were you with evaluating your work or the work of others?
I knew barley anything about art criticism in the beginning of the school year. This is because my other art teachers didn't use art criticism with my classes to critic my classmates art work, therefor this was all new to me. Especially letting other people critic my work made me a little anxious. But I was only a little nervous to critic other people's art work because; since I didn't know most of them, and just had met them. But I have been to many art museums so it wasn't very new to me, but still a little bit weird to me at first. It was also a little adjustment to let everyone know what I thought of their peice. It was very new so I felt like I was put on the spot with my work. But that eventually fated because I got used to the idea of it, then became comfortable with it too. I do now enjoy letting people give me feedback so I can improve my work. How has your understanding of art criticism changed during Art 1? How has the way you use art criticism when you make or view art changed during the class? My understanding of art criticism has changed drastically during Art 1. It has changed for instance at first I didn't really know how to criticize my peers. But I knew my opinion and if I liked it or not. But the way I use art criticism has changed the way I make and view art. It has changed the way I make art. I now use people's input as well as my own opinion to better my work. I also think a little more about my idea before I act on it. But my view has also changed too, I know look at the details of a peice of art as well as the whole picture now. What is some of the most important or most useful thing you have learned in Art 1? I think the shading and texture are some of the most important things I have learned in this class. But the most useful thing is that you take a little paint that you know you'll use. Then if you run out you go back and get more paint. This is so you won't waste paint and try to break the bad habit of doing that. What would you add or change to make it a better learning experience? I wouldn't change anything, I had a great experience in this class!

Smile1.What materials did you use, how did you interpreted theme, what inspired you? The materials is used were paint, pencil and a book. I interpreted the theme of Identity through, how your identity is portrayed. Peoples smiles inspired me, mostly because that's the first thing you normally notice about a person when you first meet. 2. What did you want people to notice in your work? I wanted people to see the seethrough text after they examined my art piece. The seethrough text is like the words in people's mouths witch they speak your mind with. 3. How successful is your Artwork? Explain why. I think this is a every successful Art piece. I think this because it shows the details that goes into a smile, but still letting the symbolism shine through. I am also proud because I executed well with paint, and I'm becoming better with a paint brush every project I use it on. More identityThese two pieces are some other things that make up your identity; like what sports you play or what your eye color is.
My Art PeiceImage one will be my sketch and my second image will be my final art Peice. Questions and AnswersWhat topic did you choose for this project and why did you pick it?
I picked the LGBT topic for this project because, the people in this group don't get treated as well as everyone else. They feel more left out, and hurt because not everyone tries to understand them and what they are going through. What was the message of your work? My message for this project is that everybody is equal. By using the symbols for female and male, then combining them together. I feel like that makes a strong point that we can be united but yet different, but still equal. Why did you pick the images that you used in your art? I choose the flag for LGBT, the symbols of female and male and the word LGBT because; the flag in the background represents the LGBT community. I also used the Slogo because it shows what my art is representing. Then I used the two symbols that I combined to show that we are all equal, and we should work together to help LGBT get more equality. Art work1.Perspective Hallway Drawing |
